One Day...

These are the destinations I most want to go to/live one day. I got these pictures from google images. I can't wait to take my own one day...

AFRICA. It is my dream to go on a real African sunrise safari.

SWITZERLAND. Out of everywhere I have been, this was my FAVORITE. I'd love to go back and spend some real time there. And this is where I ultimately want to parasail and bunjee jump.

IRELAND. I missed out on my chance to visit Ireland when I spent a summer abroad, even though it's the one place I've always wanted to visit most.

SEATTLE. I've been once before, but I'd really like to live in this beautiful city at some point in my life. At least for a few years.

Check out the Washington coast...

FIJI. This is where I'd like to go on my honeymoon...

GREECE. It just seems like it would be so beautiful.

NEW YORK CITY. i've been several times, and i'm going again for spring break, but i want to live here one day too.

COLORADO. I've been here too. But I really wanna go again. And hopefully I'll learn to be professional at skiing while I'm there. If not, I'll just tube and take super pretty pictures of the snow and mountains and lakes.

MAINE. I've never been here before. I hope I will soon. I really want to see the rocky coast. Plus, I love cold weather.

Basically, in putting all these pictures together for this blog, I realized it could go on forever. I want to travel EVERYWHERE. There's not a place I would turn down.

25 Random Things

Had to fill this out for Facebook - it seemed appropriate to post this here as well...

1) Unfortunately, I have an unhealthy obsession with the “F” word (gasp). I’m not quite sure how it happened, but it now fits quite comfortably into my vocabulary. Kala says she doesn’t even notice when I say it anymore, it just seems so natural. Hmmmm…
2) When I was little I had three dream careers: to work at Disney World, to work on a cruise ship, and to be a flight attendant. Perhaps I’ll work on the Disney Cruise Line one day? I’m pretty sure the flight attendant option is out – my dad would be pretty unhappy with that decision after paying for my Meredith education.
3) Other than the US, I’ve been to the Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria, England, and Scotland. I would love to revisit each of those places. I feel like I was too young and naïve during most of my experiences elsewhere. First though, I really want to go to Ireland.
4) Sadly, if I could do college again (and I totally would in a heartbeat), I would change my major to Psychology. I like my Communication classes, but nobody really explains what a joke it is when you’re declaring. Maybe in my next life.
5) I miss driving safaris at Kilimanjaro every single day. I never thought I would miss it so much – at the time I was so disgustingly hot all the time and it just seemed so repetitious. In retrospect, seeing those rare animals multiple times a day was a blessing I took for granted. Plus, that was such a no-stress job. As soon as I got off work for the day, I had no more worries.
6) I know I am extremely blessed with the family I have been given. My parents are normal, still together, and haven’t exposed me to anything unhealthy in my twenty-one years. That’s pretty big. I wouldn’t trade my parents for anything. I am more grateful for them than they know.
7) I miss the amazing game nights we had at Disney. Especially Jen’s last night in Orlando – that night was filled with a lot of joy.
8) If you know me at all, you already know this – I love (anything) zebra. Real zebras, zebra print, pictures of zebras, pink zebra print, etc. I can’t wait to have a house one day and have a living room with a safari/animal print theme. Not in a tacky way. It will be quite tasteful, promise.
9) I have absolutely no idea what I will do after May 10, 2009 (graduation). With the economy the way it is now, I’m thinking about graduate school more than ever. The only reason I didn’t plan on grad school starting next fall is that I have no idea what to specifically concentrate on. I guess my plan is to hang around Raleigh and find out what jobs there are in the area. But I’m positive that I’m not ready to settle down into the monotony of a job forever. I’m not done exploring…
10) That’s why I want to live in a really big city – even if only for a temporary amount of time. New York, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Denver, San Diego – they all have so much to offer.
11) I freaking love musicals. My real dream (probably similar to millions of others) is to be in a musical on Broadway someday. Joanne in Rent? I’m so there. Or Maureen. Or Mimi. Yes please.
12) I cannot stand hot weather. That’s probably the ONLY reason I’m not immediately fleeing to Disney after graduation. I loved my job and the people I worked with – I’m just not interested (not yet, anyway…we’ll see how desperate I get for a job) in sweating to death if I have any other options available. Maybe Disneyland will be something I’ll look into. Really though, I’m looking for some cold weather (and snow) in my life.
13) I have incredible road rage. If you’ve ever been in the car while I’m driving – you are well aware. It’s a curse. Speaking of cursing…that’s probably when I let the ‘F bomb’ fly the most. Oops.
14) I live for Diet Mountain Dew. And Diet Coke. And Diet Dr. Pepper.
15) Speaking of those drinks…I am addicted to caffeine. I am not ashamed. And I have no desire to quit.
16) I am extremely sarcastic. And blunt. So if you want honesty, be my friend. If you can’t handle the truth, don’t be my friend. I just think too much time is wasted pretending.
17) I hope I one day have the chance to take a REAL two week safari in Africa. I’d love to see elephants, giraffe, and zebra in the wild.
18) I, unfortunately, occasionally…snore. Take me or leave me =)
19) Sometimes, being the one in my group of friends to always take the picture stresses me out. I often feel like I can’t enjoy the event because I’m so focused on making sure it’s captured on my camera. With that being said, I love taking pictures when it’s my choice. I hope I continue to learn and grow when it comes to my camera. I’m very thankful for it and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it already.
20) There are three women that I met during my time in Florida that I will never be able to forget. We don’t keep in touch as much as I had hoped we would, but I know that they will always be there. We call ourselves the ‘charm sisters’ and I miss each of them so much. I look forward to a day when we’ll be together again. Lissette, Jen, and Sara – I love you girls.
21) I have a disgusting amount of favorite television shows. I haven’t been doing so hot lately when it comes to keeping up with them all, but they include: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Jon and Kate Plus 8, Law and Order SVU, Hills, City, The Bachelor, and probably more that aren’t on television right now, so I have forgotten they exist.
22) I am so thankful to be at Meredith College. Before my junior year of high school, Meredith was the LAST place I wanted to be. Thanks to my mom, I was forced to visit MC, and I’ve been in love ever since. I literally tear up thinking about leaving this amazing place in just three short months. I know I’ve been changed for good. I have met some of the most amazing friends I could ask for. These women have made me who I am.
23) I’m really glad I went to bartending school (and graduated) in December, but I’m not sure when (or where) I’ll be using the skills I acquired there. I want to enjoy my last semester at Meredith first.
24) My two favorite movies of all time are “Bridges of Madison County” and “My Best Friend’s Wedding.”
25) I want to be Belle. Always have, always will.

no day but today

so this weekend i headed to charlotte with my senior meredith girls (whitney, maggie, emmie, and sarah) to see RENT performed in downtown charlotte on saturday afternoon. the show was actually my christmas present from emmie! not only was i looking forward to this performance because i absolutely love rent, but adam pascal and anthony rapp were in this tour! they were both from the ORIGINAL cast of rent back in 1990. my zoom lens definitely came in handy. these pictures were from the balcony!
